Our mission since more than 50 years
In the early days, Saia Burgess Controls mainly manufactured electronic timers. The spectrum of use extended from house installations to machine technology.
At the end of the seventies Saia Burgess Controls became a pioneer in the field of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), known and used today under the Saia PCD® brand name. In parallel with this component business, Saia Burgess Controls grew to become a supplier of systems for instrumentation, control and automation technology.
In 2006 the line of electronic energy meters with fully integrated bus compatibility started production.
In 2006 Saia Burgess Controls brought to market the world’s first completely web-based touch-panel for automation.
In 2010 reconstruction of the Saia PCD1 means that even the smallest device series has joined the Saia PCD3 and Saia PCD2 in being fully modernized. The 3rd generation of Saia Burgess Controls control devices is now complete. This is characterized by the following equation: Saia PCD® = PLC + IT + Web This formula stands for the seamless
integration of world renowned, open technologies for web and IT on freely programmable, industrial electronics with the same quality and lifecycle as the robust, industrial PLC.
S-Energy stands for solutions that reduce energy costs and can be made operational immediately. The system includes components for capturing, visualizing and recording electrical energy values.

S-Energy Manager, in the form of a control panel, reads data from connected energy meters and displays it graphically.
Controllers (PLCs) can access energy data in the S-Energy Manager via S-Bus, Modbus and MPI.
With the S-Energy Logger energy values can be transferred directly from energy meters and S-Energy Managers to SQL databases. S-Energy combines many years of experience in the field of measuring electrical consumption with core competencies in HMI and web technology. Captured consumption data can therefore be accessed via network and internet – requiring just a PC with standard browser for analysis.
Bus-compatible electricity meters – Energy capture for each specific load
Bus-compatible electricity meters determine electrical consumption values directly at the load. The product range includes AC power meters and three-phase meters with measuring ranges up to 6000 A, each with S0 output or serial bus interface (S-Bus, M-Bus and Modbus).

The S-Energy Manager combines data capture, visualization and logging in one, compact control panel.
Programmable controller for measuring, regulation
and control tasks. Modular design consisting of industrial quality CPU, I/O and communication modules with life cycling lasting decades. The comprehensive application software can be simply and reliably adapted and extended throughout the life cycle.
It is applied on all automation station series (Saia PCD1, 2, 3 and PCS1)
